Mariana Martínez Barba is a freelance journalist based in Mexico and

the US. She produces multimedia stories on immigration, culture, and politics. Her work has been featured in the Associated Press, Los Angeles Times, Futuro Media and more.

 

She’s also an experienced Spanish language translator and field reporter for the New York Times, Süddeutsche Zeitung, and SBS Australia.

 

She recently received her Master's from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY with a double concentration in international and bilingual reporting.

 

 She holds a B.A. in Sociology from Occidental College.
