Mariana Martínez Barba is a multimedia freelance journalist specializing in immigration, labor, and women’s rights. Her work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Futuro Media, and Remezcla.

 

She’s also an experienced Spanish language translator and field reporter for the New York Times, Süddeutsche Zeitung, and SBS Australia.

 

She is a graduate of the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, and holds a B.A. in Sociology from Occidental College.

 

Mariana will be an intern at the Associated Press based in Mexico City this summer.
