Mariana Martínez Barba is a Global News Intern at the Associated Press in Mexico City. She produces multimedia stories on immigration, culture, and politics. Her work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Futuro Media, and Remezcla.

 

She’s also an experienced Spanish language translator and field reporter for the New York Times, Süddeutsche Zeitung, and SBS Australia.

 

She recently received her Master's from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY with a double concentration in international and bilingual reporting.

 

 She holds a B.A. in Sociology from Occidental College.
